David Bradley Massey was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 24, 1959. He attended Duke University as both an undergraduate and graduate student, receiving his Ph.D. in Mathematics in 1986. He is a Professor of Mathematics at Northeastern University. His research is on the topology and geometry of complex analytic singularities, and his computer of choice is the Macintosh.
